I met Lisa 2011 in the Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training program. Since then we have studied, practiced and worked together at Santosha Yoga. We are close colleagues and friends on and off the mat! Lisa is an extremely dedicated student of Iyengar Yoga, studying with her mentor on a weekly basis. She is devoted to her yoga teaching by her strong personal practice and her continuous study with teachers from around the world. Over the years Lisa has had some physical challenges that she herself worked through with the help of her Iyengar practice. Rest assured Lisa will go above and beyond to help each student thrive because she understands the physical healing process on a personal level. She will take into account each student’s physical challenges due to injuries or illness. Lisa’s breadth of yoga knowledge (physical and philosophical) is extensive, and she willingly shares her knowledge with all who are interested.

I have taken yoga classes and private lessons from Lisa Longton for over 15 years. I am far from a yoga fanatic, but I do believe it is an extremely healthy pursuit and a great way to delve deeply into the mind/body connection.
I can't say enough great things about Lisa, her knowledge of yoga and her teaching methods. Whether its in a class or one-on-one, Lisa is remarkably tuned-in and attentive to each student's specific needs, challenges and goals. With every pose Lisa examines every inch of her students' body to ensure that the student is striving to attain the goal of the pose .
Lisa has helped me appreciate that no pose is simple. Each pose requires discipline from all points in the body. Lisa shares her yoga knowledge freely and in such a way that students can carry with them "mental notes" regarding the precise execution of each pose.

Lisa's passion for the health and well being of her students makes her truly unique. This is not "monkey see-monkey do", or "speed flow" gym yoga! This is a journey to becoming aware of how you can focus on alignment, posture, breathing, individual muscles etc, and figure out how to work best in your body towards your specific goals. Thanks to Lisa's dedication, hands-on approach, and the active asanas, I have increased all-round flexibility, rehabbed injuries, and become fitter for other pursuits. I have also found peace in the Restorative practice and Lisa's guided Pranayama. Her knowledge is astounding, and I cannot recommend Lisa Longton Yoga highly enough.

Yoga is for sissies? Not. Competitive judo player (won the world masters four times) thinks this is one of the hardest but best workouts ever. Besides judo, I spent the last year traveling by plane, train, car, boat, and a few thousand miles on the motorcycle. Lisa designed a yoga set to keep me from freezing up, even when spending 12 hour days at sanding and painting in the boat yard. By staying mindful and doing a little most days, my body does not hate me in the morning, or the evening. Because my body is not everyone's body, I won't do everyone's yoga workout. Lisa took the time and careful attention needed to get the most out of my time and energy, no matter if I'm on the boat, the motorcycle or the mat. The private and personalized yoga sessions made me happier and healthier throughout this high stress year. Give it a try! You have nothing to lose but your stress.

Although I now live in Mississippi, I wanted to thank you for the wonderful yoga training you gave me in Colorado . The private lessons were so helpful and gave me the opportunity to absorb the practices. The guided meditations were inspirational. “Sun Salutation” is my favorite practice. The people in Mississippi need a dedicated teacher like you. I miss your enthusiasm and your presence. Thank you for your love, support and guidance. The private sessions solidified and enhanced the group lessons.
